Consortium Members
INESC TEC
INESC TEC is a private, non-profit research institution with public interest status and over 40 years of experience in R&D, technology transfer, and innovation. Based in Northern Portugal and operating 13 R&D Centres, the institute plays a key role in marine technology through infrastructures like TEC4SEA, the Leixões Blue Hub, and CEO – the Marine Renewable Energy test site.
INESC TEC coordinates the INESCTEC.OCEAN project and leads its scientific and strategic direction.
SINTEF Ocean
SINTEF Ocean is one of the world’s leading institutes for marine technology and ocean research. Based in Trondheim, Norway, the institute has over 70 years of experience in R&D and innovation.
It brings deep expertise in maritime operations, food production, and offshore energy, and provides strategic mentorship for INESCTEC.OCEAN’s development.
Fórum Oceano
Fórum Oceano is the managing body of Portugal’s Blue Economy Cluster and a key promoter of ocean innovation and sustainability. Representing more than 160 associates from across the maritime value chain, it supports entrepreneurship, cooperation, and internationalisation.
Fórum Oceano also coordinates the Portugal Digital Blue Hub and serves as headquarters for the BlueTech Cluster Alliance.
APDL
The Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo Ports Authority (APDL) oversees the operation of three key Portuguese ports and contributes to around 6% of the national GDP. APDL’s role in the consortium is to enhance maritime accessibility, foster innovation in port ecosystems, and support the integration of sustainable, digital, and intermodal solutions.
